TALES 2016 Festival Producer
Time period: January – June, 2016
Payment: $5000 payable upon submission of periodic invoice with the final invoice to be June 30, 2016 at the end of the contract period.
TALES, The Alberta League Encouraging Storytelling, requires an experienced event producer with a passion for the arts to produce our Annual Festival. This is the 28th year of the Festival and we need a person to build on the successes of the past, the work done to date for the 2016 Festival and to help us continue to grow in terms of audience and sponsors. This will be our second season in Old Strathcona.
The 2016 Festival dates are May 26 – 29, beginning with a Story Slam on Thursday, School events on Friday and workshops and storytelling on Saturday and Sunday. The successful candidate will need to be available for the peak period the entire month of May and be fully available during the Festival Days. The good news is that there is a great team of volunteers and experienced TALES members who are dedicated to ensuring that the Festival runs smoothly.
The successful candidate will work in coordination with the Festival Artistic Director, the Volunteer Coordinator and Festival Working Group. Grant applications are already submitted, and the Producer will need to complete the financial and narrative reports in June.
- Demonstrated experience in event planning and implementation
- Experience in arts administration an asset
- Demonstrated ability to manage time
- Demonstrated experience securing sponsors for events
- Applied social media expertise
- Highly capable in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, other programs that may be used in production of arts administration)
Must have own vehicle, cell phone and computer. Mileage/parking is not covered. Detailed task list and timeframes will be provided.
